Adventures of JI & Kels | Our trip to Minnesota

Over Labor Day Weekend we traveled north to Minnesota with our two pups to see Justin’s brother and fiance for their engagement session. We left Saturday morning (a little later than expected – my bad) and arrived mid afternoon to Aaron and Jess’ home. We had a quiet night at their house, which was perfect after a day of travels. Aaron grilled dinner and afterwards we went to the dock where their boat for the reception will set sail and return. We got lucky and actually arrived as the boat docked, so Justin and I were able to see how large it is!

On Sunday, Jess and I took all three dogs for a walk before the rain started. We all grabbed breakfast and then went over to Minnehaha Park and Minnehaha Falls to check out locations for their engagement session. The park is gorgeous and I loved looking around. Not going to lie though, the stairs to go down to the base of the waterfall don’t seem so terrible until your heavy breathing and sweating trying to climb back up them. ๐Ÿ˜

Then, we went to the Minnesota State Fair – and Jess and Aaron’s excitement was contagious. We munched on some fair staples, like corn dogs and funnel cakes, while wandering around to look at all there was to offer. We were four ofย 241,102 in attendance that day. Suffice it to say, the place was packed. We didn’t let that stop us from wandering around. Food seemed to be on the forefront of my mind as we tried everything. We also went on the Skyride and were able to see the fair from an aerial view.

After all that, it was time for engagement photos. ๐Ÿ™‚ Their session was followed by an incredible Italian dinner, and early to bed for Justin and I. We were back on the road by 6 a.m. Monday morning to head back to Missouri. ๐Ÿ™‚ We had a blast in Minnesota, and can’t wait to go back for their wedding in July.
