Adventures of JI & Kels: Married for a month!

We have been married for over a month, and I am loving all of it. Our first two weeks were spent on our honeymoon in Rome, Florence and Venice. Getting home and getting back in our routines has been hard, not going to lie. We also threw a new puppy into the mix, so that has an effect. Being married is pretty great, and I’ve listed what has and hasn’t changed for us below.

What has changed since we have been married for a month

  • We obnoxiously call each other husband and wife often
  • Justin wears a ring – usually a silicon band for work (these are amazing, just in case you haven’t heard of them! I love Qalo bands, personally.)
  • All of our kitchen things are nicer (and we are so grateful!)
  • Joint checking account and budgeting. We are following the “Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey. We want to live like no one else now, so later we can really live like no one else.
  • We went to Europe for the first time – this only pertains to our marriage because of our honeymoon 🙂

What has stayed the same over the past few weeks

  • Our day-to-day hasn’t changed a whole lot. We have lived together for almost three years, so already have a pretty good routine going.
  • My last name. For now. We still plan to travel and we just got our passports. I will probably change it before/when we have kids.
  • How much we enjoy just hanging out together, even if we are just staying at home.
  • The fact that we enjoy being home-bodies. We are happy to stay home and hang out with the dogs.
