The Story of Us: Saturday suit shopping

So this post may be a bit confusing. considering I previously posted that we were going to order Justin’s suit after I completed his measurements. However, when it came time to checkout … let’s just say things seemed a bit on the sketchy side.

Now we had a conundrum

So here we were without any idea of where to find the kind of suit Justin was looking for, and we wanted to select his prior to the groomsmen. He really wanted a tweed or textured look to the suit, and we just weren’t seeing that most places we looked.

Our solution

We began searching for somewhere close by. It seemed like our best bet since ordering online didn’t quite go as planned. The large chain stores didn’t seem to have what he was looking for, and we were lucky to find Houndstooth in Kansas City.

I called and made an appointment for Saturday. We were already heading that way to update our passports (more on that on my Instagram) so we figured, why not? We met with the owner, Jeff and Amy, the shop boss. They were so kind and helpful.

Justin chose to go with a custom suit. He was able to make every decision for it to be completely one of a kind. Fabric, fit, the buttons … everything. It was such a great experience, and I can’t wait to see him in it! 🙂

Next on our wedding to-do list: design invitations and save the dates, along with ordering a return address stamp.
