How to choose your portrait location

You found your dream photographer. You know what you want to wear.  Now you have to figure out where to go? Decisions, decisions – so many to make, and you’re busy enough as is! Let me help. I want the process to be as stress free as possible, because you should have fun with your photos! So follow these tips below for how to choose your portrait location! 

Resource one: Your Photographer! 

I have a ton of locations I can recommend for your session! We just need to discuss if you’d like a more urban setting (think KC skyline) or a more natural setting (like parks or fields). My goal is for you to love your photos, so I want you to be happy with the setting. 

Resource two: Your home! 

Your home is a great place to have your photos taken! Think of how many happy and wonderful memories you have there? Why not take some amazing photos of you and your loved ones at home?! All we need is some window lighting and we will be set!!! 

Resource three: Some place sentimental 

Is there some place that is special or unique to you? The place you were proposed to, perhaps? Or your family farm? Those locations can bring such a wonderfully sentimental feeling to your photos. 

Resource four: Your venue

If you’re engaged and have your venue booked, they sometimes allow you to have your engagement session there. Now this is usually through the week, as their weekends are full, and at your venue’s discretion, but it could be an option. 

Resource five: a travel destination

Going on vacation?! I love to travel, and I would love to photograph you while on vacation. You can also find photographers in that area to schedule a session with while in that area!
