I’m so excited to share this Higginsville Mo family session turned proposal with you today! When JJ reached out about proposing to my little sister, Karley, during a photo session I cried tears of joy.I just couldn’t wait! And honestly, I could not have pictured a better guy for my little sister. He truly is her match, and they bring out the best in each other. There’s something so special about all family sessions, but this one will forever be my favorite. One of the greatest moments ever was getting to be a part of my sister’s proposal, and I will be forever grateful to JJ for including me.

Higginsville MO family session turned proposal

This session took some very strategic planning, and a lot of deleted texts and phone calls between JJ and I. JJ reached out to me about a month or so before the proposal and told me he had a ring and wanted my help to photograph the proposal for Karley. And, he wanted to surprise Karley with their families after he proposed! 

After coordinating schedules, telling Karley that I needed to take some sample shots for mini sessions (not a lie) and that I’d trade her my promo images for a family session we were set. JJ and I worked out a posing queue and from there it’s history! 

I loved Karley’s reaction. I loved the way Keaston ran to give them both a hug, and that JJ worked hard to find a way to get him involved in the proposal as well. We worked out giving him a camera to take pictures with (which went great until I showed him it also did video and then that was all he wanted haha), and I set up my tripod to record his reaction. Which would have worked great, but he was so into videoing that he kept moving all around. 

To JJ, Karley, and Keaston, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! Your family is so sweet, and this will probably be my favorite session forever. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together, and I am beyond excited for your wedding!
