Favorite five things about fall

Fall always seems like a magical time of year. Everyone gets so excited for pumpkin spice everything, booties, sweaters, and the list goes on! Since the season technically started on Sept. 22, I wanted to take some time to tell you my five favorite things about this time of year. πŸ™‚

1. When the leaves start to change

We were driving around a couple weeks ago, and I kept telling Justin “Oh look!! That tree is changing!! Oh look!!! That one has some red!!” Fall is just so beautiful. Every season has it’s own beauties, but there is something so heart-warming about fall. Everyone is happier to snuggle during photos because it isn’t too hot. There is so much color in all of the trees. It is definitely one of my favorite times to have session. (P.S. if you feel this way too, you should consider booking a fall mini session Oct 21 or 22!)

2. Sweater weather

I adore being cozy, and thick-knit loose sweaters are my favorite. Sweaters and scarves and booties, these are a few of my favorite things. Oh that’s not how the song goes you say? Well, it should be. πŸ™‚

3. Pumpkin spice everything

Justin always laughs at me about this one. There was one fall when I went a little crazy. I had pumpkin spice bagels with pumpkin spice cream cheese and pumpkin spice creamer in my coffee. Those breakfasts were magical.

4. The plethora of fall activities

Going to the pumpkin patch with Squirt is always a good time. I was able to go with his preschool class on their field trip last year, and I had a blast. We also always do a pumpkin carving/decorating night at my Mom and Dad’s house before Halloween. It’s a tradition that carries over from when Karley and I were little, and something we would do asΒ  a family. Although, Dad has always been in charge of pumpkin gut removal. πŸ™‚

5. That crisp, fall air

It is just so invigorating! There’s a bit of a nip in the air, but not so much that you don’t enjoy being outside. Bonfires and pumpkin patches, picking apples, apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes – all things that are significantly better when fall weather is here. πŸ™‚
