Andy and Kate’s big day was a whirlwind of laughter, hugs, tears of joy and an abundance of love that could be felt by all in attendance. The wedding was at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, Mo., and the photos in front of the church are some of my favorites from the day. Kate is the daughter of Jeff and Kris Shier, and Andy is the son of Roger and Carol Homfeld. The wedding party included Abbie (Maid of Honor), Alexa, Carrie, Jamie, Mallory, Riley, Donnie (Best Man), Patrick, Mike, Russell, Josh, and Sam.
The day began with the bride and her maids gathering at her mother’s house to get ready together. Hair and makeup were provided by Reflections in Lexington, Mo.
The bride waited until she was at the church to finish getting ready. Kate’s mom helped her into her dress and the bridesmaids assisted with the garter. Her dress was absolutely gorgeous and the long train was stunning. Katelyn got her Casablanca dress from Special Occasions in Odessa, Mo. Lisa Zimmerschied arranged the beautiful flowers celebration. The groom rented his tux from Kramer Clothing in Higginsville, Mo., which is owned by Katelyn’s family. The reception was held at the American Legion Hall in Higginsville, Mo., and the decorations were perfect. The groom’s mother, Carol, made the wedding and grooms cakes – and they were delicious. The meal was catered by Gail Lilliman and the evening was deejay-ed by Tim Gibson.
