Miss Maely turns four this fall and to mark the occasion, we went out and took some gorgeous photos. She is such a great little model!
Lindsey, Maely and I went shopping to pick out Maely’s photo wardrobe together. I loved being able to a part of the process. Old Navy and Target were our destinations for wardrobe choices, and Maely’s boot/dress combos are adorable. I am also a HUGE fan of her flower headband.
Because Lindsey, Maely’s mom, wasn’t in the photos, but did come with us for the shoot, she was able to hold the reflector for me and I loved being able to see it used effectively. I have tried holding it myself and taking the photo, but the results when someone else held the reflector for me were far better.
We definitely had fun during out photo session! As a Missouri Children’s Photographer, I always carry a stash of “tricks” with me, including a whoopee cushion and several balloons. We really played with the balloons and whoopee cushion prior to the shoot, but it was nice getting her into a good mood before heading out. I did get a small present – a pumpkin painting kit – to reward her excellent behavior. She loved it!
It was an amazing afternoon and as Lindsey and I were finishing up, I was so excited to get home and go through all the pictures! I love the ones of Maely without her hand band and how her untamed hair matches her amazing, wild, one-of-a-kind personality.
I also thoroughly enjoy the range of facial expression Maely gave me. She can go from super serious to seriously silly in a heartbeat and is just a total ham in front of the camera.
