The day was sunny, and even as the bitter cold wind blew through the tall grass it was a good day. Their wedding day was filled with laughter and joy. The bride and groom were troopers, putting up with the chilly winter day so we could get some gorgeous, glowing photos outside.
The day was full of DIY details and sentimental pieces. Rachel’s bouquet was wrapped in a piece of her grandpa’s old long sleeve t-shirt he would often wear. Her grandpa passed away in October, and Rachel said she didn’t have a good place to put a heart from said shirt on her dress so she wanted to wrap her bouquet to make sure everyone that knows her knew he was there with them.
Cody and Rachel, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your wedding day, and to tell your story. From photographing your maternity session, Harper’s newborn photos, your engagement and some family photos it has been so amazing to get to know you both over the years.
Preparing for our first 2020 wedding
This wedding was a first for us as new parents. Packing all of Wynn’s things and getting out the door on time so I could feed him before we took off for the day required some extra planning. All of my camera gear was prepped and packed up in the kitchen on Friday night, so that was easy to load in the morning.
We were taking a ton of things for Wynn over to my parent’s house. On Friday night we packed as much of his stuff as we could. The Pack’n’Play was loaded in the car the night before, and the extra carseat base. I was paranoid and we packed extras of everything in case Wynn peed on something – which happened a couple times.
We did such a good job preparing, but I still walked out the door Saturday morning without my winter coat. Luckily we were taking Wynn to Mom and Dad’s so I could borrow one from them.
