Things we love: travel must haves

We are taking off on Friday for Seattle for an engagement session, and I am beyond excited! When we traveled for our honeymoon, we talked about the things we should definitely bring with us. It’s not an all-encompassing list, but just some things we like to have for flights or road trips. We’ve gone to California twice, Italy and took a road trip to Chicago. I’ve said it before, but I want to go everywhere, and I am so excited that we are going to Seattle!!

Water bottle

I made the mistake of not having a full water bottle on our way home from Italy. It was a silly mistake, and I couldn’t find the water fountain before we had to board. I like to carry one with me whenever we travel because it’s cheaper than buying a drink all the time.

Comfortable shoes

Super important for moving around the airport. However, one time I made the mistake of wearing a pair of Nike+ running shoes that have a hollow part in the sole that caused a bit of a delay at the security check. On that note, I make poor wardrobe choices when flying. I once wore a top that has a big gold zipper and got pulled aside in every security line on our way home.

Head phones

I am not a fan of silence. Background noise, music, I need something. When flying or in the car it’s no different. I need something to kill the silence and tune everything out all at once. I’m also usually more productive when I wear them.

Snacks

I get hangry. Justin gives my levels of hangry ratings so he can gauge my level of crankiness. So to prevent this, I like to travel with snacks. Popcorn, crackers, nuts — basically anything that doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
