Wearing her mother’s veil, a garter made from part of her mother’s wedding dress, and her grandmother’s wedding shoes she was ready to walk down the aisle. The day called for rain, but we kept our fingers crossed. For most of the day we were luck, until it was time for photos. They say rain is good luck on your wedding day, and if that’s the case, Scott and Francesca are in for a lifetime of good luck. Despite the rain, Fran and Scott handled the day with grace and huge smiles on their faces.
Like the smile on Fran’s face as her father walked her down the aisle, and the way Scott’s face lit up as he saw his bride for the first time. Their ceremony was wonderful. The priest told the story of how Scott and Fran attended high school together, but didn’t start dating until years later after reconnecting during a random night out and communicating over social media. He called the story “Happily ever after with cake” and said the story would end happily because now that Fran was a part of the family she would finally get a secret family recipe for a special cake.
The reception was full of so many wonderful moments. From people coming to congratulate them and celebrate with them, to the incredible meal and desserts. The dance floor was packed all night, and even Fran’s Nonni was out there dancing. All of the toasts were wonderful. Angelo, Fran’s dad, started them off by thanking everyone and speaking about the importance of family.
The best man, Tim, started his speech talking about his history with Scott and how he has always loved that their relationship can always pick up right where it left off. Tim spoke about Scott’s character and how he is such a good guy. He joked about all of the groomsmen’s significant others saying things like, “What would Scott say? Why can’t you be more like Scott?”
Jesse, the maid of honor, talked about all of the shenanigans she and Fran got into over the years. She mentioned she’s pretty sure Fran’s dad wished they were boys so they could have played football for him. During Jesse’s speech, Fran surprised Scott with a song and sang “Killing Me Softly.” Her voice is incredible!
Scott and Francesca, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your day! We loved all of the tiny Italian cookies, and we may have taken two bags home. That chocolate biscotti is no joke! You two are amazing people and we are so grateful that we were able to get to know you. Your families, and especially your parents, are incredible. We hope you guys have a blast in Jamaica and that you love your photos!
