I’m so excited to share this rural Missouri family session with you today! I absolutely love taking family photos for the Cottrills. I just couldn’t wait to work with them again! There’s something so special about family sessions. Especially when that family is actually your family, and they are cool with you wearing your 18 month old son on your back while you take their photos. 

Rural Missouri Family Session

We have found that morning sessions work best for busy family life and kiddos temperaments. When we start in the morning, everyone is in their best mood, and when photos are done the rest of the day is free to be used as they please. I love the light at sunset, but sometimes with busy schedules it just makes sense to knock pictures out first thing in the morning.

I love all of the different groupings of a family session. Mama with her boys, all the Cottrill men together, all of the boys… I love capturing any grouping I can think of to make sure that everything is documented. The days may be long, but the years are short – and they should all be captured. My absolute favorite though was designing and delivering their album! 

To the Cottrill Family, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! Your family is so sweet, and it was great getting to know you guys better. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
