Waiting on the new baby
The Reinwald’s arrived at the hospital bright and early the morning their family of three would become a family of four. Brandi and Chase spent the morning in the delivery room at Centerpoint Medical Center counting down the minutes until their baby boy would arrive. I hope the photos due this precious boy’s birth story justice. 🙂
I showed up a bit before 11:30, and things were progressing quickly. Chase’s mom arrived just in time for Brandi to get in one final hug with their two-year-old before he became a big brother. By noon, Brandi was ready to push, and at 12:09, that sweet bundle of joy had entered the world.
The arrival
He was wiped down, put in a diaper and placed on Brandi’s chest for a couple hours of skin to skin. He was fed and cuddled (and it was quickly learned by all that he despised being outside of the blankets). The nurses came to check on the new baby and Brandi several times, and eventually the sweet boy was weighed and measured. The 8lb 7oz sweetheart measured 20.5 inches in length; and at one point I thought he was going to pull himself off of the scale.
His grandma and brother arrived during all the commotion, and they were able to meet him.
After he was weighed, he was dressed and bundled, and Chase was able to hold him for the first time! Their oldest son wasn’t sure what to think of the delivery room, or his new brother. He was, however, quite entertained with the “giant fishing pole” – i.e. the crane – outside of the window.
Brandi’s mom arrived not too long after that and she was able to get some sweet cuddles in with the little bundle of joy as well.
And that’s the birth story of how this sweet family grew by one on a bright, sunny afternoon in June. 🙂 Photos from the Reinwald’s maternity session can be viewed here.
