I met up with Mason and his mom, Gwen, on a cool, slightly cloudy Saturday morning to begin his senior session at my family’s farm. We had a bit of sun peaking out for the first few photos, but the day quickly turned cloudy (and then later- rainy).
Mason wanted some photos with his truck, his gun and bow, and his football and wrestling things. We made sure to get a good mix of outfits and locations to really add some variety to his session.
I had so much fun during this session. We were able to laugh and joke with each other throughout the morning, and that was great because his smiles ended up being more genuine.
As a Concordia, Missouri photographer, I am used to temperamental weather, so we paused for a while due to some rain before heading to Grain Valley for some photos at the school and at a location Mason requested. I absolutely love all of Mason’s photos at the field. Those are probably my favorite from the session.
When we went to our next location, we had to carry all of our things with us and take a Gator ride to get there. It was absolutely gorgeous back in the woods. We also went over by a pond on the property and tried to get the most out of that.
Of course, Missouri weather is fickle, so just as we were finishing up the session the sun started to poke out of the clouds. We took a couple photos, but at this point we were all worn out from the day.
We met up for the reveal night a week after the session so Mason and his parents could view the slideshow and place their order. I came prepared with an album laid out and some sample photos of what a few of the images would look like on their wall.
