On your wedding day, you’re worried about so many things! Is everyone where they are supposed to be? What time are flowers being delivered? Has the hall been decorated for the reception yet? When will the cake be delivered? Of all the things brides worry about on the wedding day, finding portrait locations should not be one of them.
Finding portrait locations is not your job, so please don’t stress! Save your time and energy for something else on your big day. If you’ve chosen your venue specifically thinking of photos, that is amazing. Just leave the individual portrait locations to me. 🙂
I have spent a lot of time learning how to find portrait locations based on light, and until I get there on the wedding day, I’m not going to have a great idea about where we will be taking pictures. This does not mean I have no plan at all, it just means I don’t want you to stress!! I am going to be looking for good light, areas that will match the theme of the day, accessibility and, for the first look, for it to be private.
Light changes day to day, season to season. Locations that were maybe incredible in April might not look the same in September as the angles of the light changes. I want to make sure we find the best possible light for your portraits. And that doesn’t even take into account if it’s cloudy on your wedding day, because then we flip the script and are looking for a whole different set of circumstances.
