On a mostly quite Kansas City street in the Sunday afternoon sunlight, a couple stands close together. Laughter rings out. They look at each other, and continue to giggle. “I always laugh at his shoulder, it’s fine,” Emma joked. And so the session goes. All of us laughing the entire time about how weird things can feel when I pose couples, but how natural they look on camera.
We met up at Stockyard Brewing Co. for drinks before their West Bottoms KCMO engagement session so we could get to know each other. Emma and Crispin are perfect for each other. The two of them have so much in common, but also compliment each other. They love doing things with their dogs, Lucy and Indie. Both dogs are 6-year-old female pit bull mixes that they had independently prior to dating. They love hiking, running, and being outdoors. And, they both ran cross country in high school.
They told fun stories about their time together, like flaying fish at midnight while wearing head lamps on Crispin’s balcony, and joked about how often Emma stares at Crispin. (Posing brings up a lot of fun moments that bring out some genuine laughs.) Emma told me that Crispin picked out the ring himself, and I absolutely love that! He did a wonderful job – her ring is gorgeous! 🙂
Crispin and Emma, thank you so much for hanging out with us on Sunday! And sorry I almost got us all in trouble at the memorial due to my location choice. (Whoops!) We had so much fun with you all, and I adored meeting Lucy and Indie! Your pups are so sweet. 🙂 I hope you love your photos, and I am so dang excited for your wedding!
