Bride Tribe: What’s in my emergency kit?

On your wedding day, it would be so great if everything could go perfectly. But if you’re like me, Murphy’s Law always seems to come into play. You know the law? Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. I’ve found that one way to combat Murphy is to be prepared, because then things don’t feel like such a disaster. In light of this, I bring an emergency kit with me to weddings just in case Murphy rears his ugly head.

Emergency kit necessities

Whether it’s fixing a stray hair or making sure everyone looks sharp, I always like to have the following list on hand:

  • Sewing kit
  • Tide-to-go pen
  • Bobby pins
  • Safety and straight pins
  • Bug spray for outdoor photos
  • Sunscreen
  • Band aids
  • Advil
  • Scissors
  • Hair spray
  • Static guard
  • Face oil wipes (The ladies can blot, without removing makeup)
  • A lint roller

I have never used all of the items at one wedding, but a few have come in handy from time to time. I want to keep the couple as stress free as possible on their wedding day. So while a stray hair may not seem like an emergency most days, on that day with hundreds of photos being taken, it just might be.

A few “just in case” items

There are a few things that I throw in my emergency kit just in case. These are items nice to have on hand, but might not necessarily constitute an emergency.

  • Phone charger
  • Mints
  • Kleenex
  • A lighter
  • Deodorant
  • GermX

Do you see anything missing from my list that I should consider adding? Let me know in the comments below. 🙂
