Why I love a first look

Sharing a first look between you and your groom before the wedding adds so many benefits to your big day. There is nothing wrong with waiting until the ceremony, but personally I just adore when a couple takes the time to share that special moment in a more secluded setting.

It takes the pressure off the groom for a big reaction in front of all the guests

When a groom sees his bride for the first time, there are a lot of emotions. Having a first look allows for that to be a private endeavor, and takes the pressure off the groom to have some big reaction in front of 200+ people. His reaction can be genuine, and just for his bride.

It allows for a more intimate moment between the bride and groom

The day is all about the bride and groom, and I think a first look gives them time to just soak it all in. They get to see each other, be all excited, and talk before the ceremony.

You get more bride and groom portraits

When the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony, it allows for more time to get some photos of just the two of them, following their first look when all the emotions are fresh and right there.

The wedding party photos can be accomplished before the ceremony

And who doesn’t love this?! When you have a first look you can knock out all of your wedding party photos before the ceremony, meaning you get to the reception that much sooner to celebrate with all your guests.
