They left for the hospital early on a Monday morning. It was finally time to become a family of four. After months of time seeming to fly by and simultaneously feel as though it wasn’t passing at all, they were going to meet their baby boy. Such an exciting day! Kali and Jon went to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO for Kali to be induced. Their almost two-year-old stayed home with Kali’s sister while they were in the hospital. They wanted to have that same one-on-one time with their youngest that they’d had with her.
Just before 3 p.m., their precious boy made his debut into the world. Ten perfect fingers, ten perfect toes, the cutest little ears and a head full of fuzzy hair. He was here. “He’s just so quiet,” Jon said as we all marveled at the sleeping babe. Kali joked about how they should enjoy it while it lasts. The only time he cried the whole time we were there was when his diaper was being changed. Even when I un-swaddled him for some photos he slept peacefully. (His sister did not when I did the same to her, btw.)
I can’t thank you guys enough for allowing me to be the one to document your lives. I love photographing your little ones and spending time with some of my best friends. Kali and Jon, I am over the moon happy for you guys and I am so lucky to call you friends. I am so excited to watch your little ones continue to grow. I love you guys, and I hope you enjoy your photos. 🙂
