Assignment 2 – Film photos using Portra 800

Taking photos on a roll of Portra 800 was the last film stock I needed to use to finish assignments 2 and 3. Assignment two focused on using four different color film stocks to see which we liked best. Justin went on a golf trip, and so after Wynn finished his breakfast one Saturday morning we set out to shoot this gorgeous film stock.

I rated my film at 200, but I think I should have set it at 400. My aperture was set at 2.5 with a 640 to 1000 shutter speed. I dressed Wynn in some overalls and we took off to find a location for some photos. We had so much fun! Wynn loves to reach for my camera, and I sound like a lunatic trying to get his attention while I’m taking photos, but it works.

We were able to shoot all 36 images on the roll within 30 minutes (a naptime deadline was approaching), and Wynn is my favorite person to photograph. I loved spending this time with him, and he is always such a trooper when I want to take his picture. He is getting a tad harder to contain though, haha.

I just adore these photos, and I love this film stock. What do you think!?!
