A Sunday afternoon spent with the Dragos is always a good time. Caulin and Chloe are so amazingly unique and I adore getting to see their rambunctious, goofy side. Their parents are pretty great too. 😉
I am really happy with the variety of shots we were able to get, all at one location utilizing different sides of a barn, a fence, and (upon the kids insistence) a tractor. We also tried to do different variations of the groupings, which helped change things up since we only used one location.
We also had some rather silly moments, like Caulin sneezing and Chloe just being her ridiculous, amazing self. Caulin loved the picture of him sneezing and made me promise to include it in the completed images.
As a Missouri Family Photographer, I was prepared for the unpredictable weather. It was a bit cooler that Sunday and it was so cloudy. There was no chance of the sun peeking out at all, so we made do with that God provided us with that day, and I love the images. I am a sucker for some back lighting and sun flares, but I still adore these.
I was thrilled to be a part of this session. I loved helping Kealy plan what to wear and the location that we were using. We used Pinterest for inspiration and worked to get that “coordinated but not matchy” vibe going for the session wardrobe.
For the session, I was using my D800 and my manual focus 85 mm f/1.4 and 50 mm f/1.8. I love these two lenses and hope to get an autofocus 85 mm soon and a 35 mm f/1.4. I was having some trouble with the manual focus lens and definitely want an autofocus lens in the near future to guarantee my images are as sharp as possible.
