Whimsical dusty blue and antique gold wedding inspiration

Dusty blue and gold wedding inspiration kcmo wedding photographer

My first styled session was Tuesday, and it was so much fun! Let me clarify, the first styled session I was involved in the planning part – and it was a great learning experience. Things I took away from the session:

  1. I need to give myself more time than I initially thought (just like how I build cushion time into a wedding timeline!) so that I am not rushed. I know when I can slow down that I’m more creative.
  2. Bring snacks and some beverages – because I forgot those!
  3. I should definitely bring some things to freshen up with, and maybe a change of clothes for after the unpacking part.
  4. Being a Kansas City Wedding Photographer is an amazing thing. The sense of community and people coming together for this kind of thing was so incredible to be a part of, and I am so grateful to everyone involved.

The events of the day

The morning stated with picking up rentals from Ultrapom – and thank goodness I borrowed my mom’s truck! Next, I went to Belle Vogue Bridal to meet Leslie and finalize our dress decision. After that, Leslie went to Posh KC in the afternoon, and they absolutely killed it! I could not get over how perfect her hair style was, and the makeup was flawless.

Hannah of Eleven Events and Planning, Diana with Tobler’s Flowers, Kaitlynn with Kate’s Kakes and Mickenzie with YellowBrick Graphics were so great too work with! The entire vendor team was awesome. 🙂 When we arrived at The Barn at Riverbend, Regan gave me a tour and introduced me to Kris and Kip. Everyone there was so helpful and just a joy to collaborate with for the session!

I was lucky enough to have a real couple model for me for the day – Jason and Leslie. Jason is a wedding DJ that I met at Katie and Jason’s wedding in November, and it was great to see him again. They were engaged a month ago and are in the process of planning their own wedding! Jason loves to cuddle, nuzzle and give Leslie kisses. The way the smiled at each other and were able to bring out genuine smiles and laughter was amazing.
