Wedding programs: why you may want them

There is so much that goes into planning a wedding, that sometimes things can fall through the cracks. Wedding programs are often overlooked when planning, and I know I was dangerously close to forgetting them. (I ordered them with juuuussst enough time to get them here.)

Pros of having wedding programs

Wedding programs are a great way to share the order of events at your ceremony, and to give a shout out to your wedding party. They can be whatever you want them to be. We included a thank you note to all who came to celebrate with us.

An order of events is helpful if your ceremony is full or religious aspects not all of your guests would be familiar with. If you have a warm-weather outdoor wedding, you could choose to have your programs printed on a fan. There are all kinds of creative designs if you want something other than a traditional program.

How many to order

This part is important. You will not need one wedding program for every guest. Families will often share one program, some people will forget to take one, etc. I would suggest maybe 50 percent (or one program per family) of the total number of guests that have RSVP-ed. A friend ordered one for every guest that RSVP-ed and had over half left, so 50 percent might even be a lot.

I would suggest pulling out any wedding programs you want to save, and for your photographer to photograph, before putting the rest of the programs out for guests.
